About Us

Friends of MADACC (Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting community awareness and improving the welfare of nearly 12,000 homeless and neglected animals MADACC cares for every year.

Friends of MADACC is managed by a board of directors and with the help of volunteers provides wellness programs that  focus on helping low income families keep their pets healthy; education programs that focus on educating the youth on the importance of treating their pet as a family member and resisting pressure to engage in acts of cruelty. Spay and neuter programs to help reduce the pet overpopulation in Milwaukee County.

Friends of MADACC uses its resources to provide an enriching environment for the homeless animals during their stay at MADACC.

A few of the projects that Friends of MADACC has funded include:

  • 15 outdoor kennels that are used for adoption events during the warmer months.

  • Facility improvements – a new outdoor exercise and play yard for the dogs to burn off energy and work on obedience.

  • Cat Condos for the MADACC lobby that allow the cats to be comfortable, less stressed and move visible to potential adopters.

  • The Kitten Commando Program and funded a full time Kitten Commando Foster Coordinator position in 2016.

  • Surgical equipment, leashes, collars and any miscellaneous items that MADACC requires.

To ensure that every dog has a chance to find a loving forever home, Friends of MADACC funds special adoption programs such as:
