October is Pit Bull Awareness Month! Friends of MADACC is excited to kick off this month with several community engagement initiatives, free spay/neuter surgeries for pit bull type dogs for anyone in Milwaukee County, and by hosting Pit Bull Awareness Day Celebration at Camp Bar Tosa on October 20th.
Five Easy Ways to Participate in Pit Bull Awareness Month
1) Share your adoption story
Have you adopted a pit bull from MADACC? Share your story! Send us a photo of your pup, or even better, the whole family and tell us what you love about your furbaby. Help us show Milwaukee what incredible family members they make. Please include your first name and your pups name. Email all stories to email@example.com.
2) Feature your Favorite Adopt-a-Bull
Do you also volunteer at MADACC dog walking or adoptions counseling and know some of the adopt-a-bulls? Tell us who you would like to see get some extra social media attention!
Send an email to Cassidy at firstname.lastname@example.org. Include the name of the adoptable pit bull that you would like to feature, one or two sentences about what you absolutely love about them, and your first name.
See image to the right for an example of a past adoptable.
3) Take your pride to social media
Don’t just tell us what you love about your pit bull or pit bulls in general, tell the world! Share your story on social media using #pitbullproud to spread awareness. Need some help getting started? Download some pre-made images here.
This year we also have a Facebook frame that you can use. Follow this link to update your profile photo with our Pit Bull Proud frame.
